Point Dume Hike

4/16/07 - Join the trailblazers for a hike at Point Dume on April 22. Meet at 9:00 AM at the McBean YMCA parking lot. Don't forget to sunscreen, lunch, water bottle, etc.

More info about the hike can be found on the localhikes.com web site.

Camp Whittle Update!!

2/20/07 - It looks like snow for this weekend -- from Ben’s weather, "This Thursday will bring another storm, possibly the season’s strongest thus far with snow levels as low as 3,000 feet. So expect snow increasing on Thursday with gusty winds and much colder temperatures as we plummet back into the 20s to lower 30s. Total snowfall accumulations will likely exceed several inches before moving out on Friday. Clearing, dry & warmer weather as we head into the weekend."

THIS MEANS WE WILL HAVE SNOW FOR SNOW CAMP! IT ALSO MEANS BRING YOUR CHAINS! As you may already be aware, during this time of year (and with specific conditions like this) the CHP REQUIRES CHAINS. We will not be shuttling people up and down the mountain so PLEASE COME PREPARED! Please make sure everyone in your tribe is aware of the road conditions and the forecast.
